"Christmas Warm-Up" - 19 November, 2006

Eighteen-year old Julia Dawson is thrilled to be singing in her home town of Cobourg with the Northumberland Orchestra and Choir.

Last December Julia was the echo-soprano soloist with the Bach Consort in Toronto performing Bach's Christmas Oratorio.   In addition Julia has sung several solo recitals. She was selected to participate in the Stratford Festival Music Theatre Workshop in the summer of 2005.

Local concertgoers may have seen her in community theatre productions including the title role of Cinderella and playing piano in the pit band for Seussical, the Musical.

As they say, ".....the best laid plans of mice and men....."
Our Concert was scheduled for 3:00 pm, however, we learned rather late
that the Town's Santa Claus Parade was taking place at 2:00 pm
- the parking lot would be full before the concert even started
- our patrons would also be attending the Parade
- what to do ???

Well, the Orchestra & Choir could practice a little longer . . .

. . . The answer was to put the Concert back to 4:00 pm, serve
Hot Chocolate to our patrons. . . and have some
pre-Concert Carol Singing !

crowned by our Guest Singer Julia Dawson, who was a great success !
