VolunteersVolunteers are the lifeblood of the NOC.Not much can happen without the enthusiastic organizing of our volunteer committees. Committee membership is open to any community member who has an interest in supporting Northumberland County's symphony. The Chair of each committee is held by a member of the Board.Take a look at the committee descriptions below — does one sound appealing to you ? Remember, many people who are active volunteers get involved in something that is new to them, a wonderful way to develop new skills or interests. Of course, if you're already experienced in some field, we'd love to welcome you aboard on the applicable committee if that's your preference. | Finance, Planning & Audit Committee |
Short- and long-term organizational planning including personnel, and the general financial operation of the Society including budget preparation, monitoring and financial statements. | ||||||
| Fundraising Committee | Community, corporate and individual fundraising, including application for all available grants.
| ||||||
| Governance Committee | Recruitment of Directors, succession planning, preparation of the Nomination Slate for the AGM, coordination of Board assessment projects and organizing of ongoing training and development to ensure Board effectiveness. | ||||||
| Marketing Committee | Promotion of the Society and its events, including advertising, public relations, media relations, photography, and the generation of materials thereto. | ||||||
| Membership Committee | Membership Policy, recruiting and maintaining a body of volunteers, recruitment and management of performing members, communication between the Board of Directors and members (newsletter, etc) and maintaining esprit de corps among members through regular social events. | ||||||
| Programming Committee | Music program development, in concert with the Music Director, projecting three years. | ||||||
